Volunteer Opportunities

We are looking for Volunteers to join our team!   The following are positions currently available for the 2015 Festival.

Festival Day Volunteers

Class Room Coordinator: 

  • help check-in students
  • help instructors setup their space

Competitions

  • Fleece competition help
  • Provide form information to web master and booklet
  • Distribute ribbons

Demonstrations Chair: 

  • Ensure all demonstrators have the support they need to get set-up on site.
  • Provide information to PR chair for timely promotion.
  • Reach out to shepherds
  • Procure a variety of breeds
  • Confirm all animals meet health requirements
  • Ensure fairgrounds offer a safe and secure environment for the animals.
  • Coordinate festival requirements with all shepherds
  • Confirm fairgrounds are well prepped to receive animals
  • Greet shepherds on-site and direct them to their stalls
  • Communicate breed display with website, marketing and general festival chairs.
  • Attend committee meetings
  • Reach out to potential demonstrators (Sheep Shearing, Spinning Wheel Repair, Alpaca Fleece Display)
  • Ensure all demonstrators have the support they need to get set-up on site.

 

Committee Chairs receive the following as a thank you for volunteering: 

  • Free booth or class equivalent
  • Free Admission to the Festival
  • Early class sign-up
  • Free biz card or web ad
  • Free camping
  • Name on web site
