Join us on Saturday night when Andrea Myklebust will present a fun and fast-paced look at the pleasures and perils of antique wheel-hunting. Andrea (amyklebust on Ravelry) will present lots of examples of what to look for and what to avoid when searching Craigslist and other sale venues, and will provide guidance to help those new to antique wheels do basic repair and maintenance tasks for themselves. Whether you already have an antique wheel or are thinking about getting one, you are bound to find some useful and entertaining information here.
Andrea Myklebust is spinner and shepherdess at Black Cat Farmstead in rural Stockholm, Wisconsin. A sculptor by trade, she does repair and restoration work on antique wheels in her western Wisconsin studio. Using raw materials produced at her farm, she demonstrates and teaches the processing and spinning of flax and wool, and is presently involved in research and documentation of the 70+ spinning wheels in the collection of the Vesterheim museum in Decorah, IA.
